We've had this camera for 3 years and it has been an ideal device. Some of its highlights: * Low price* Very solid* Takes decent shots* Uses standard AA batteries* Simple to useLow lights: * Resolution a bit low* Could be thinner to fit small pocketsAll in all, for the price, the great pictures it takes and the longevity, I couldn't be more pleased.
Now, as almost all pocket cameras, it is not easy, much less fast, to put the menu onscreen and start choosing, so you use it almost always in automatic point and shoot mode.4X optical zoom and 4x more in digital zoom is more than most in its class. It has an unbelievable hunger for batteries, and it chews them very fast, both rechargeable or alcaline. This is a good camera, it takes great pictures under almost any circumstances. That's its most negative aspect, and even with new ones, flash recycle takes several seconds (about 15).Anyway, the pictures are good and 5MP is more than enough.
This is the first time I've ordered anything and I was passed onto another company called ABC Deals/ The Electronic Club for the Canon Supershot camera.I thought I was buying a new camera and this one appeared to be refurbished as the box was used; the camera had some nicks on the camera body; and the camera was not factory sealed in plastic.ABC Deals, the company that Amazon.com passed me along to hasn't returned my money in spite of the fact that I returned the camera in a timely manner. I was disappointed in my order from Amazon.com. They were also difficult to get hold of by phone and email.
It comes with a basic manual, which is very easy to understand. I never use the view finder to take a picture, instead I use the LCD monitor, which makes it much easier, and the picture shown of the object your pointing is displayed clearly. I took outdoors and indoors pictures. I am also an amatuer. The first picture it said unidentified but after that it took clear picture.
I have no intention of printing it. The do's and don'ts. It also comes with an advance booklet with more detailed information for those who are experts or advanced users.I only used the automatic features and I found it excellent. It also took clear pictures indoors.I am also very pleased with the LCD monitor. Hello folks out there:I brought this camera for taking pictures and keeping it on the computer.
For a beginner, and one not so familiar in camera usage, it is excellent. The camera came with several booklet, telling you how to use and take care of the camera. What amazed me was that after taking my first pictures outdoors, the camera was able to identify the scene.
Does every job adequately. Digital Flash card, and both have functioned extremely well.
The Kingston Flash card worked without any glitches. The software that comes with it is VERY primitive.
The camera is straightforward to use, and if you have used a previous camera, you can step right into this one without any instructions. You will be glad to use earlier software if you have it.
Fine camera. I purchased it with the Kingston 1 gb.
It does not rotate pictures, for instance, and exporting pictures to send as emails is cumbersome and nonintuitive.
